the aim of this record is not to sit in silence, not to sit in comfort, but to critically examine our existence and to self cultivate during precious quiet moments. when we steep ourselves in compassion and care for those around us, and especially those who suffer most, we are able to more fundamentally and radically change our relationship to our self, to each other, and to the entire organism of Earth that we are a part of.

it escapes me how there are people in this world incapable of empathy, incapable of feeling, incapable of understanding the injustices and atrocities that have been and that are committed against Black people, trans people, indigenous people, people of color, and to the entire Earth every single day. these people have closed off their ability to truly feel, to love, and to truly know others and themselves. it is them who we must fight against, for those of us who are still so desperately fighting to feel more, to love more, and especially for those in the Black community for being allowed to Live!

this record came about mostly before and also during the quarantine. inside days spent reflecting. meditating. trying to heal. and it is my hope that this project can bring uplifting calm, clarity, and equanimity to those who are lucky enough to have a moment to search for it.

all proceeds from this record will be donated.

while i don't want to promote my art at this time, it is the best way for me to help fundraise for the numerous causes and individuals who need support. i will mainly be donating funds to Brave Space Alliance, a Black Trans-led LGBTQ center on the South Side of Chicago.
